    Description - Evergreen, arching,erect crown. This lustrous, deep green broader leafed fern has a has all the qualities of a great fern- color, texture, distinctive shape and very adaptable to various conditions. Though native to Japan, the holly fern has found the southern US very comfortable, as it will spore easily in the right location. Protection from winter winds help keep it’s fonds attractive thru most of the winter. Cutting back old fronds in early spring promote vigor & growth. A great foundation plant. Likes moist, but can tolerate drier soils in part shade best,but can tolerate some sun.
